7 new year resolutions couples should consider

Is there a list of things you've always wanted to try together? Make this the year that you finally cross some of those items off your list. Whether you do something daring like skydiving or just try sushi for the first time, the most important thing is that you're trying these new adventures together.

1. COOKING TOGETHER

A wonderful way to have an inexpensive date night is to enjoy this New Year's resolution for couples that you can put to use all year long! Many of us cook for each other, but do we get the chance to cook together? Take a class to enhance your cheffing skills and see what you two can cook up for your next movie night in.

2. EXERCISING TOGETHER

It's always easier to watch what you're eating and kick start a healthy lifestyle when you have someone by your side when you're exercising. Challenge each other to go the extra mile on the treadmill, see who can run faster around the track, and pick up a game of ball to really make this a workout that will last all year long.

3. TRY NEW THINGS

Is there a list of things you've always wanted to try together? Make this the year that you finally cross some of those items off your list. Whether you do something daring like skydiving or just try sushi for the first time, the most important thing is that you're trying these new adventures together.

4. APPRECIATE EACH OTHER

Sometimes it's the little things that matter the most, and showing your partner a little appreciation goes a long way! Just by saying thank you, I love you, or telling them how much they mean to you, will make their day so much better. Send an "I miss you" text when they are at work, or go a little bit deeper and surprise them with a work week date night out. Show love every day and make an effort to really be there for each other this year.

5. SAVE MONEY

Are you in debt, trying to pay off your car or mortgage? Make this year all about saving money, and do it together. Once a week or month, depending on your expenses and budget, put money away into your savings account and at the end of the year put that money towards paying off the big bills that you still owe. Reaching your goal to pay off a loan will lift a big weight off of your shoulders, plus it will leave extra savings to finally do the things you've been wanting to.

6. TRAVEL MORE

Whether you travel to parts of your state you have never been to before or you go out of state or country, explore together and make memories that will last a lifetime. No more sitting in the house on the weekend; get out there and see the unique stores and events your town, state, or country has to offer!

7. CREATE

Oh there are so many ways to take this wonderful word! You can create a new business adventure, create and repurpose furniture in your home for a new look, and even create a little family! Whatever you do this year, create something new together to enjoy forever!
